We also have wide experience in dealing with clients in diaspora who take up loan facilities in Kenya and we understand their special needs. Clients in diaspora usually have little or no local support and hardly understand the rigors of the bank securitization process and the legal requirements. We offer such clients a one-stop shop in relation to their legal needs and this has led to a significant rise in the number of diaspora clients served by the Firm.

We are well conversant with the land laws in the country as well as the administrative, procedural and legal aspects involving transfer and ownership of land in various parts of the country. Among the services we render in this area include Change of User, Extension of Leases, Subdivisions, Transfer of ownership, Registration and Discharge of Encumberances on land.

We handle real estate projects ranging from just a few units to mega developments of commercial and residential nature and we have a dedicated team which is continually researching and building its expertise in meeting the specific needs of our clients (both individual and corporate).

We routinely advise Real Estate developers on matters relating to project financing, compliance with the Environmental Management and Coordination Act and other legal aspects. We have also formed strategic alliances with other players in this sector including valuers, surveyors, physical planners, project managers, Estate Agents, architects as well as the relevant Government agencies (such as the Government Survey office, Physical Planning office and the respective lands’ registries) with the aim of ensuring that our clients’ get a one stop shop in this regard.
