Josephine Namasaka - Senior Partner
Mrs. Josephine Namasaka is the Firm’s Senior Partner and also the Partner in charge of the Firm’s Real Estate and Conveyancing Department.
Josephine, a graduate of the University of Nairobi, started her career in the corporate world and rose through the ranks to the position of Legal Manager at Fidelity Insurance. Having worked for almost a decade in the corporate world, she joined Sichangi & Company Advocates in the year 2000 as a Partner and rose to the position of Senior Managing Partner in the same Firm.
Josephine offers the NKA team immense legal experience spanning close to three decades as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
For a considerable period of her earlier years in legal practice, she primarily focused in civil litigation and debt collection where she successfully represented several clients in court
Josephine has wide experience in various areas of law including commercial, corporate, succession, employment, banking, insurance and general litigation. In her capacity as the Senior Partner of the Firm, she spearheads the Firm’s business development angle and ensures that the NKA team meets its clients’ expectations and delivers on its brand commitment to its clients.
Josephine is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Notary Public, a Commissioner of Oaths and a registered Patent Agent with the Kenya Industrial Patents Institute (KIPI).
She is also a member of the International Commission of Jurists (Kenya Chapter) and a Certified Public Secretary of Kenya.

Mwangi Kariuki - Managing Partner
Mr. Mwangi Kariuki serves as the Firm’s Managing Partner and in this capacity he is tasked with the day to day management of the team, implementing the Firm’s strategy as well as giving professional guidance to the team.
He previously worked at the Insurance Company of East Africa (now ICEALION), Kairu & McCourt Advocates and Sichangi Partners Advocates before co-founding Namasaka & Kariuki Advocates.
With his active legal experience spanning over several years of legal practice, his areas of expertise include financial securities, conducting legal and compliance audits, corporate due diligence for listed companies, advising on corporate governance matters including corporate restructuring and reorganization of corporate institutions arising from mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, share splits, international trade finance transactions with particular emphasis on loan syndications and private equity, conveyancing and real estate practice, intellectual property law and general corporate and commercial law.
Kariuki has represented both local and overseas clients in various commercial transactions and has been recognized as being a meticulous legal professional in structuring the legal dimension of complex commercial transactions. He is routinely consulted by various financial institutions who tap into his expertise in relation to security documentation and development of systems and processes attendant to securities’ perfection.
Besides serving as the Firm’s Managing Partner, he is also the Partner in charge of the Firm’s Commercial and Corporate Law department.
Kariuki is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Notary Public, a Commissioner of Oaths and a registered Patent Agent with the Kenya Industrial Patents Institute (KIPI).
He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Moi University and a Master of Laws degree in Commercial & Corporate Law from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Austin Ayisi - Partner |Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Department
Austin is the Partner in charge of the Firm’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolutions’ department. In this capacity, Austin is responsible for providing technical oversight to the Firm’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolutions Department as well as representing the Firm’s clients in Court proceedings and other judicial fora.
Austin is an astute litigation lawyer and has great passion for dispute resolution.
He has over the years successfully represented clients in high profile cases in the entire Kenyan judicial system right from the Subordinate Courts all the way to the Supreme Court of Kenya. His legal expertise extends to environmental and land disputes, winding up and bankruptcy proceedings, family law and succession, anti-corruption matters, public procurement disputes, criminal law matters, employment matters, debt collection, high value commercial and corporate disputes among others.
Austin is a graduate from the Catholic University of East Africa and brings on board respectable litigation experience to the NKA fraternity having horned his skills while previously working at LJA associates, Anjarwalla & Khanna Advocates, Muriu Mungai & Company Advocates and Muthaura Mugambi Ayugi & Njonjo Advocates.
Austin is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public.

Evelyn Muthoni - Partner |Banking Securities Deparment
Muthoni serves as the Partner in charge of the Firm’s Banking Securities Department, overseeing the Firm’s conveyancing and banking securities operations across the Firm’s branches. She is also responsible for liaising with financial institutions on securitization matters.
With over 8 years practice experience, Muthoni has built a strong expertise in the banking and financial sector, fostering strong relationships with key financial institutions. She provides legal counsel to commercial banks on a variety of issues, including the structuring of banking and financial instruments and the perfection of securities. Her expertise extends to drafting and reviewing facility agreements, securities agreements, legal opinions on complex securitization and recovery matters and conducting due diligence for banking and finance transactions.
Additionally, Muthoni is well-versed in conveyancing law and real estate practice. She has been involved in significant real estate projects, including handling changes of use, property conversions, and the transfer of property interests. She also has corporate law experience having undertaken the formation of limited liability companies, companies limited by guarantee, non-governmental organizations, societies, and trusts, as well as corporate restructuring. She has also carried out legal compliance audits for large corporations.
Muthoni is a graduate from the Kenyatta University and previously worked at Humphrey & Company LLP. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public. She also serves as a committee member in the LSK Nairobi Lands Registry Liaison Committee and the Companies Joint Liaison Committee.

Lilian Waithira
Lilian is a Senior Associate stationed at our Mombasa Branch. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Commissioner for Oaths. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
As an advocate, she has competence in matters concerning property acquisition, Bank Securitization, drafting of commercial contracts and agreements, negotiating business contracts and projects.
Besides having passion for the Law, Lilian believes in working with Integrity and delivering her work as service to God.

Nereah Mary
Nereah is a Senior Associate Advocate attached to the Firm's Conveyancing and Real Estate Department and the Banking & Securities Department.
Nereah has more than 2 years of experience in legal practice specialized in Conveyancing & Real estate law and Banking & Finance Law. She also has experience in contract Law, family law and probate & estate planning.
She is highly skilled in legal drafting and research with a proven ability to provide quality work and effectively resolve issues to achieve goals. She is self-driven, creative, analytical and a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (2nd Class Upper) from Strathmore University and a postgraduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law.
She is a member at the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Kenya since 2019 and a Member of the Law Society of Kenya since 2020.

Fridah Mbula
Fridah is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and an Associate in the Firm’s Conveyancing and Commercial Department.
She has experience in perfection of bank security documentation, acquisition and transfer of property interest, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, incorporation of companies, and regulatory impact assessment and compliance.
Fridah holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from Riara University and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. She also holds a CIPIT Data Protection Certificate from Strathmore University.

Raquel Oonga
Raquel is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and an Associate in the Firm’s Conveyancing and Commercial Department – Head office. She is a versatile legal professional with experience in property, banking, commercial and immigration law.
Raquel has a reputation for her structured approach, attention to detail and ability to keep transactions moving smoothly even under pressure. She enjoys the process of problem – solving and executing clients’ instructions just as much as the satisfaction of a well – executed transaction. However, outside work, she values the little moments that make both law and life balanced.

Thomas Raingo
Thomas Raingo is an Advocate of the High Court and an Associate in the firm’s Litigation & ADR Department.

Irene Muthama

Darius Musembi
Darius Mumbe Musembi is a distinguished legal practitioner at Namasaka and Kariuki Advocates, where he is integral to the firm’s Commercial, Real Estate & Projects, and Banking Securities practice both locally and internationally.
He holds an LLB from the University of Nairobi, a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and is at the conclusion stage in his Diploma from the College of Insurance. He is currently advancing his expertise through a Company Secretarial course at Kasneb.

Wangeci Maina

Valentine Magato
Valentine is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and an associate in the Conveyancing and Banking Team.
She specializes in drafting and reviewing securities. She is a trusted advisor in real estate transactions, including property acquisition and sale, due diligence, and project financing.
Keen on risk and compliance, she is currently training as a Certified Secretary. She has specific expertise in Data Protection and Anti-Money Laundering.

Winfridah Kerubo
Winfridah is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and an Associate within the Firm’s Conveyancing and Commercial Department.
Her main areas of expertise are the perfection of Bank Securities, general Conveyancing transactions, and Commercial and Corporate practice. She is also very well versed in Data Protection and committed to ensuring clients understand and comply with Data Protection regulations.

Biko Kimunya
Biko is advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a certified professional mediator. He is an Associate in the Firm and has vast knowledge and experience in real estate, banking and finance.
Biko holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from the Riara University and a Post-graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
He is currently pursuing a certification in Data Protection and Corporate Finance. He previously worked for Kaplan and Stratton Advocates.

Eric Shimoli
Eric is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and an Associate in the Firm’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Department.
He has been extensively involved in litigation at various levels across different courts within the Republic of Kenya. He has also been involved in various public interest litigation cases. His experience spans the field of Civil and Criminal Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Constitutional Litigation and Succession and Family Law.
He holds LLB from Kenyatta University School of Law and Diploma of Laws from Kenya School of Law.
He has previously worked at the Firm of Eric Achoki & Associates Advocates and the Firm of Humphrey & Company LLP.

Debra Wangui
Debra is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a strong grounding in legal practice, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Debra is a certified mediator accredited by the Dialogue and Dispute Resolution Institute, with experience in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms aimed at efficient, consensual, and commercially sound outcomes.
She also holds a Certificate in Data Protection from Strathmore University, and is currently undertaking a Company Secretarial course at KASNEB.
Her practice is informed by analytical rigor, practical problem-solving, and a commitment to ethical and effective legal service delivery.

Quentin Mubena |Finance Manager & Team Leader of Laredo Fortunes Ltd
Quentin is the Firm’s Finance Manager and also the Team Leader of Laredo Fortunes Ltd, the consulting arm of the Firm.
He is a practicing member of the Institute of Certified Investments & Financial Analysts (ICIFA) & a Certified Investments & Financial Analyst (CIFA) and a Certified Public Accountant, CPA(K). He holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and is currently pursuing his MSC in Finance at JKUAT.
Quentin has over 14 years’ practical experience in taxation, audit, accountancy, training, consultancy and financial management.
He has spent several years as a financial consultant in various organizations and companies in various sectors such as transport, manufacturing, agriculture, hospitality, service industry and has extensive experience in financial management, analysis, reporting, investments advisory, taxation and consultancy.

Jayne Shisoka
Jayne is an amiable, efficient and dedicated member of the team. Jayne is in charge of the Firm’s general administration and in addition, serves as the Executive Assistant to the Partners.
